This entry isn’t about the recent contest we ran over at the CITIES XL website where we asked our fellow members to submit pictures of their city hall and vote for the 3 best ones to see them modelled into the game… But rather a late one on the great afternoon we took with the whole team in this castle in the south of Paris shooting each other on a Paintball game Soldier

We left the Paris offices at 13.30 taking a bus with the team leading a magnificent castle in the south of Paris. There, we left our stuff in our beautiful rooms and ran directly to the battle field where a set of weapons, masks, gloves and suits were waiting for us to start the fight. We were splitted into two teams Greys and Blues: I was part of the Blue team. Our goal was simple: find our way to the other team camp, take a smoke grenade and activate it: the first team to activate the smoke grenade wins the round.

We fought for 4 rounds:

  • First round, I’m out after a minute hit in the arm. Damn too quick! Mad But we won.
  • Second round,  a draw.
  • Third round, a victory for the Greys.
  • Fourth and last round, we won.

Total: Blues 3 – Greys 1! Victory

We had a lot of fun during this Paintball session even if it was really late and the sun was hiding behind the trees which at the end left no opportunities to see our opponents unless we were standing next to them…

Then we had a great dinner and Jérome took the opportunity to make a brilliant and emotional speech where he sumarized all we achieved so far, fighting the difficulties all together and all we still have to do.

After the dinner, we entered in a Texas Hold’em Poker tournament with 4 tables where I got to the 7th place. We really had a lot of fun during that tournament.

And finally, we got some champagne, wine and other alcools to party all together and talk about something else than work. Meeting

Such pauses in our daily jobs was very welcomed and I think it brough all the team to know each other better seeing we were all sharing the same goal, the same passion and the same devotion for the game’s success. Hopefully, we’ll have some other opportunities to join this great team of collegues and friends maybe even outside of Monte Cristo.
